Our Read
Harman is the name pellet burners on hearth.com and r/PelletStoveTalk bring up for reliability, and the P43 is its compact freestanding model with a 50 lb hopper. Harman is now sold under Hearth & Home Technologies’ Forge & Flame site, which lists it as the Pathfinder P43.
The headline “heat output 45,200 BTU/hr” is the top of the fuel input range in the same page’s spec table, based on the feed rate times about 8,600 BTU per pound of pellets. EPA’s tested output is 18,783 to 33,252 BTU/hr at 77% HHV. Harman prints both LHV (82.7%) and HHV (76.7%) efficiency, which makes the gap easy to see once you know to look.
It’s also the most expensive stove here at a “starting at” estimate of $4,449 before venting and installation, and its 1.8 g/hr is high for a pellet stove.
Bottom line: A premium pellet stove with a well-labeled spec table and an input-based headline number. Size it on 33,000 BTU/hr, not 45,000.

What We Haven't Checked
- The maker page names the stove "Pathfinder P43"; the EPA listing is "Harman P43-C". We treat them as the same model line; the rating label on the stove settles it.
- Real-world output in your house, which depends on wood moisture, chimney draft and how you run the stove. Nobody's lab number covers that.
