Our Read

The Evergreen sits in the middle of Lopi’s NexGen-Hybrid range, which pairs secondary-burn tubes with a catalyst. It takes 20.5-inch logs and is approved for alcoves and mobile homes.

Lopi’s brochure gives two ranges: 12,500 to 70,500 BTU/hr on cord wood and 10,768 to 37,113 BTU/hr on crib wood. The EPA listing agrees on the low end but tops out at 31,641 BTU/hr. We haven’t found the reason for the mismatch, so the tables here use the EPA figure.

At 77% HHV and 1.2 g/hr it’s cleaner and more efficient than a typical non-cat, though behind the Blaze King and HearthStone on paper.

Bottom line: A capable mid-size hybrid. Size it on the 31,641 BTU/hr EPA maximum; the brochure’s crib wood figure is higher than the listing.

What We Haven't Checked

  • Current list price (dealer-priced).
  • Real-world output in your house, which depends on wood moisture, chimney draft and how you run the stove. Nobody's lab number covers that.
